Someone will have a better verb. The date will slip. Legal will cut a line. If that headline is already burned into a picture, the afternoon is over. You can generate another picture. You cannot edit the one you have.
The Design Editor exists for that hour. Ask makes the first move. A Query can hand you a request that already worked. The canvas is where type, layers, artboards, brand, and export stay real objects — not a photograph of a layout.
The public promise is one sentence: generate the first move, then design the final version.
The poster that left you a place to write
You already asked AskGL for a night-market sheet and told it to leave a cream field empty. That empty field is why you are here.
You open the result. You write the real event name. You export. The command told the truth. The editor exists because the words were never supposed to be pixels.
The shoe from Monday is the other story. That file is a raster. It wants the Image Editor — crop, correct, keep the materials honest. If you start putting a headline on the shoe, you have left the landing page and entered a poster. Different surface.
Ask yourself one thing: if I flatten this file, does the next edit die? Yes — Design Editor. No — Image Editor.
The 4 p.m. loop
This is the part people skip. It is also the part that is unique.
You ask for a tighter headline. You see the canvas actions before anything lands. You apply, or you discard, or you try again. Then you keep editing — move, restyle, group, undo — like any other layer.
The file does not silently rewrite itself because a sentence was vague. You approve the plan. That is why the public page can say: ask for the change, approve it before it lands.

How the file arrives
Four honest doors:
Start blank. Generate with Ask. Open a Query. Bring workspace media you already have.
A good Thursday looks like this. /poster with a reserved field. Open here. Ask for spacing. Review. Write the name legal approved. Save the project. Export the package. The export is not the source. Monday will want the project back.
Editable is a small list of things that must stay true: event copy, a price you may not invent, a headline marketing will rewrite, a caption that quotes a source, a brand hex. Generate a pretty rectangle of words and you have a picture. You do not have a poster. /write and /document exist for the same reason.
What this canvas is not
It is not the Image Editor with extra panels.
It is not a Space. A Space holds several output areas on shared sources. This editor finishes one file — or a package from one file.
It is not a public app store. Creative Apps stay private in the workspace.
It will not invent an address. Bring the address. Set the type.
If you want the school version of the loop, use Edit and export. If you want the language that made the first move, use What AskGL is. The reserved-field jobs live in poster, flyer, or banner. The map of commands is the command list.
The headline is still going to change. Open the Design Editor before it does.

When should I use the Image Editor instead?
Use the Image Editor when the job is a raster: one picture or a set of pictures. Use the Design Editor when the job is a layout, type, a carousel, a poster, or an editable file.
Does Ask change the canvas without asking?
No. You describe the result, review the plan, then apply or discard. The public loop is reviewable on purpose.
Can I open an AskGL result here?
Yes. Generate the first move in Ask or from a Query, then bring the output into the Design Editor when it still needs type, structure, or export.
